ECC (about 280k stars, still updated on 2026-10-15) follows the motto 'Optimize the context window. Persist everything else.' It ships 71 specialized subagents, 311 on-demand skills and 97 slash commands, plus hooks, rules, session summaries and 'instincts' (learned patterns with confidence scores), forming a plan→test→implement→review→verify→remember→improve loop. It also includes Memory Vault, a shared Markdown memory format for handoffs across harnesses, and AgentShield, a security scanner for prompts, hooks, MCP config and permissions. Claude Code is the stable primary target; Codex and Qoder have native plugins. Its popularity comes from packaging token economy and cross-session memory into one installable system.
